Alliance4Life – boosting European science excellence

Ten founding members of the Alliance4Life gathered and signed the Memorandum of Understanding last Friday, October 4th 2019, in Vilnius, Lithuania. The aim of Alliance4Life is to strengthen cooperation between alliance members and foster further development in the life sciences research area in Central and Eastern Europe. Prof. dr. Tomaž Marš, vice-dean of Faculty of Medicine, signed document on behalf of University of Ljubljana.

The formal existence of Alliance4Life began two years ago as a project, and in this time member institutions with their intention to decrease the innovation gap in Europe, received positive feedback from European commission and played important role in negotiation for the upcoming Horizon Europe.

The Alliance4Life was initiated by CEITEC Masaryk University (CZ), and joined by UL Faculty of Medicine (SI), ICRC St. Anne's University Hospital Brno (CZ), Biomedical Research Center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SK), Medical University of Lodz (PL), University of Zagreb School of Medicine (HR), University of Tartu (EE), Vilnius University – Faculty of Medicine (LT), LIOS Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis (LV) and Semmelweis University (HU).
