Enrollment data for programs in Medicine and Dental Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana for the 2026/2027 academic year

At the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Medicine, we have again seen very high interest in enrollment in the integrated master’s degree programs in Medicine and Dental Medicine this year. The number of applications remains high and comparable to last year; however, it is important to note that the number of available spots has also increased for the 2026/2027 academic year.

This year, 467 candidates applied for the Medicine program (450 last year), with 240 spots available (205 last year). This increase in available spots reflects efforts to expand educational capacity and respond to the needs of the healthcare system.

For the dental medicine program, 178 candidates applied (148 last year), and 60 spots were available (55 last year). We are also seeing an increase in the number of applications for this program, along with an increase in the number of available spots.

Comparison with the 2025/2026 and 2024/2025 academic years:

Medicine:

• 2026/2027: 467 applicants | 240 spots
• 2025/2026: 450 applicants | 205 spots
• 2024/2025: 349 applicants | 205 spots

Dental Medicine:

• 2026/2027: 178 applicants | 60 spots
• 2025/2026: 148 applicants | 55 spots
• 2024/2025: 137 applicants | 55 spots

These are enrollment spots for Slovenian citizens and citizens of EU member states.

The trend in recent years indicates stable and growing interest in studying medicine and dentistry, with the increase in enrollment spots representing a significant contribution to ensuring an adequate number of healthcare professionals in the long term.
