Uniform Master`s program in Dental Medicine

 

The Integrated Master’s Course (EMŠ) in Dental Medicine lasts 6 years (12 semesters) and comprises 360 credits. Each year of study comprises 60 credits: 54 credits from compulsory subjects and 6 credits from optional subjects.


In the course of their medically oriented study of dental medicine, the student acquires the following skills:
 

  • the ability to apply basic biological, medical, specialist and clinical knowledge in practice
  • problem-solving, diagnosis and the treatment of dental diseases and diseases of the oral cavity and orofacial system on the basis of evidence supported by facts
  • a knowledge of preventive and educational measures for better oral hygiene for individuals and communities
  • the safe and successful comprehensive treatment of patients, with an emphasis on prevention
  • professionalism of approach and conduct, communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • collaboration with doctors from other areas of specialisation, which is also encouraged by the close integration of dental medicine and medicine disciplines
  • the ability to carry out scientific research work in the field of dental medicine.
  • These skills enable the graduate to carry out professional work and tasks in the field of dental medicine; at the same time, they enable them to undertake further advanced specialist study or continue on towards a doctorate (3rd level). A graduate of the course acquires the title of Doctor of Dental Medicine (dr. dent. med.).
