Objectives

Diagnosis in neurological disorders: history, clinical examination and additional laboratory and imaging investigations. Autonomous action in critical care in neurology. Knowledge of currently valid methods of treatment & rehabilitation and introduction to future possibilities in this area. Holistic treatment of the patient without narrow focusing on only a single disease. Public health care perspectives of neurological disorders.

Content (Syllabus outline)

Functional systems of nervous system. Symptoms and signs of neurological disorders. Classification of neurological disorders. Neurological diagnosis. Critical care in neurology. Chronic neurological disorders. Shared areas between neurology and psychiatry. Infectious diseases of the nervous system. Surgical conditions in neurology. Neurological complications of systemic diseases. Treatment of neurological disorders and pain; pharmacological, other possibilities. Rehabilitation in neurology.
