Erasmus+ Placement
The Faculty of Medicine has a long-standing commitment to facilitating educational and research opportunities for students through the Erasmus+ programme. The selection criteria for these placements are typically focused on clinical practice or research, with a particular emphasis on study exchange during the academic year. Additionally, the summer months (June to September) are designated for the acceptance of Erasmus+ placement/traineeship opportunities.
Erasmus+ placement students are required to submit their applications within the same deadlines as the Erasmus+ study exchange students, should they wish to undertake clinical practice during the academic year. Due to the high volume of incoming students, the university is only able to accept placement students from its partner universities.
Applicants are kindly requested to submit their applications through the online portal, ensuring that all necessary documentation is uploaded, including:
- the learning agreement for training,
- a transcript of records,
- an English proficiency certificate, and
- a copy of their personal ID/passport.

SUMMER ELECTIVES
During the summer we have more available free places at the clinics so we as well accept students from non-partner universities. Students are allowed to apply for the clinical placement if they are in their last year of Medicine or if they at least have the basic theoretical knowledge in the fields where they want to do the clinical elective. We offer during July - September the following clinical electives:
Internal medicine (minimum duration of stay are 2 weeks)
- Cardiology,
- Haematology,
- Nephrology,
- Endocrinology,
- Rheumatology,
- Pulmonology,
- Gastroenterology
Surgery (minimum duration of stay are 3 weeks)
- Traumatology
- General/Abdominal Surgery
- Oncological surgery
- Urology
- Cardiovascular Surgery
- Thoracic Surgery
- Plastic Surgery
- Neurosurgery
Pediatrics (3-week course: 17. 8. - 4. 9. 2026)
Gynaecology and Obstetrics (3-week course in September: 7. 9. - 25. 9. 2026)
- practice in G&O can be as well arranged in the time periode June - September 2024 (3 places available per week)
Please apply through the online application until the end of January if you are planning to participate in the summer electives; otherwise you have the application deadlines below.
