Second Call for Applications for Young Researchers in 2026

The University of Ljubljana has published the second call for applications for young researchers in 2026. The purpose of the call is to select candidates for employment as young researchers, who will undertake research and training towards obtaining a doctoral degree and participate in research and teaching activities.

The second call offers 23 positions for young researchers. Employment is on a full-time basis and for a fixed term of up to four years. Selected candidates must be enrolled in the first or second year of a doctoral study programme in the 2026/2027 academic year. Candidates must apply separately for admission to the doctoral study programme.

Candidates with a completed master’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent foreign qualification are eligible to apply. Candidates who have not yet completed their studies may also apply, provided that they complete their studies no later than 15 September 2026. Candidates must also meet the other requirements specified in the call and in the descriptions of the individual research positions.

The application deadline is 10 September 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Applications must be submitted via the University of Ljubljana’s online application system.

The call also includes a research position at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, in the field of human reproduction. The research will focus on identifying novel biomarkers for the diagnosis of endometriosis using transcriptomic, proteomic and clinical data, as well as advanced machine-learning approaches.
