Teacher's impressions of Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility (KA171) International dimension

Following the established tradition, within the Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility Programme International Dimension (KA171), Erasmus+ lecturers from abroad visit our faculty for teaching and further training. In February, Dr. Aliya Smagulova from the Astana Medical University, Kazakhstan, took part in her teaching mobility at the UL Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Aliya Smagulova, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine with a specialization in Geriatrics, taught 5th year students in the course of Gynaecology and Obstetrics. In addition to local Medicine students, a number of Erasmus+ students who are on exchange at UL MF and have chosen the course of Gynaecology and Obstetrics also took part in the course.

The physiological changes during pregnancy and its pro-arrhythmogenic effects, the specifics of diagnostic methods, different treatment modalities and the efficacy and safety of catheter ablation of arrhythmias during pregnancy were discussed in depth. The section on pharmacological treatment of pregnant women was particularly interesting. In addition to the teaching activities, it was possible to outline possibilities for further cooperation. Such friendly visits by teachers ensure that the best knowledge is available to all medical students and enrich the experience significantly. We would also like to present Aliya's feedback on her visit to our university:

And let us present Aliya’s feedback of our university’s visit:

«I am really so grateful for Erasmus+ Programme,University of Ljubljana and my Alma mater for such great opportunity for sharing with my knowledge and experience. From becoming a teacher at the my University I realized vital role of using excellent practices in my daily routine. So, learning educational processes from the best scientific research institutions in the World was my aim and motivation. I was so impressed of old history of ginecology clinic of Ljubljana – 100 years of brilliant work for women health. This week gave me incredible experience and opportunity. And I see that student almost the same in our countries –want to receive very structured information and finish their classes as early as possible at the same time. Also I want to highlight great professionalism of Ljubljana University staff. Dear professor Adolf Lukanovic, Jerneja Čelofiga, Aljoša Belcijan and Šárka Jarc Rydziová were so kind for me and did all procedures in high level. We became great team and have many memorable moments from these days. During participating in the education process of your University I received not only knowledge and practical skills, but also found friends and strengthened my believes that everything is possible in our life! Yes, really dreams come true! »
