Instructions for teaching in the academic year 2021/2022

The number of SARS-CoV-2 virus infections is declining. On 4 March 2022, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the Ordinance on Interim Measures for the Prevention and Control of Infections with the Infectious Disease COVID-19, therefore the UL MF is supplementing the Instructions for the Implementation of Classes of 14 January 2022.

1. Implementation of lessons

Classes for the study programes of Medicine and Dental Medicine will be held in physical form from 7 March 2022 in accordance with the schedule. Forms of teaching such as laboratory exercises, seminars, clinical exercises and clinical practice are carried out only in physical form.

The provision of distance learning shall be suspended and limited to pre-approved and specified exceptions.

Final written tests of knowledge and skills take place only in physical form.

2. Implement measures to prevent the spread of infections

Disinfection of hands and wearing a protective surgical mask type II or IIR, a mask type FFP2 or a mask type FFP3 is mandatory for entering and staying in the UL MF premises.

Although wearing masks is not mandatory for students and staff for the duration of the class, wearing a protective mask is still strongly recommended.

Wearing a protective mask is mandatory for practical training, clinical exercises and for students in the implementation of the study process when it takes place in a clinical environment.

For students and employees of UL Medical Faculty who teach in educational hospitals and institutions, participation in the study process and teaching is possible only if the RTV condition is met (recovered, vaccinated, tested). Verification of compliance with the RVT negotiations is the responsibility of the educational institution.

Employees and students are required to consistently implement all measures to prevent and spread the infection, we especially emphasize the importance of responsible behavior for the safety and health of patients in educational hospitals and institutions.

Low-threshold PCR testing continues to be organized for UL MF students for students who have been in high-risk contact with a person who has been confirmed to have SARS-CoV-2 infection. Students with SARS-CoV-2 symptoms may also participate in low-threshold testing. Testing is voluntary. Prior to testing, the student proves himself with an authentic document and signs a statement of consent for the processing of personal data. PCR testing is available for students in the building at Korytkova 2, in Seminar 2 on Tuesdays from 8:00 to 10:00 and on Thursdays from 8:00 to 10:00. Prior registration is not required.

2. LESSONS

We remind students of medicine and dental medicine that the responsibility for the safe and healthy performance of study obligations also lies with you. Above all, we emphasize the importance of responsible behavior for the safety and health of patients in educational hospitals and institutions.

  • UL MF students have the option of performing a free PCR test for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus (Low threshold testing - withdrawal instructions) in the nasopharynx twice a week as part of low-threshold testing. Low-threshold testing is intended for UL MF students who have been in high-risk contact with a person who has been confirmed to be infected with SARS-CoV-2. Students with symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 may also participate in low-threshold testing. Testing is voluntary. Prior to testing, the student proves himself with an authentic document and signs a statement of consent for the processing of personal data.

PCR testing will be available for students in the building at Korytkova 2, in Seminar 2 on Tuesdays from 8:00 to 10:00 and on Thursdays from 8:00 to 10.00. Prior notification is not required.

*High-risk contact with a covid-19 positive person is when an infected person and an uninfected person have been at a distance of less than 2 meters for at least 15 minutes without a protective face mask.

We observe that students become ill with malaise or cold symptoms, take a rapid test for SARS-CoV-2, which can be negative, and then still attend live classes. Students are encouraged to stay home immediately and be tested by PCR low-threshold testing (rapid Ag test is not sensitive enough) in case of already mild symptoms and signs suspicious of covid-19.

In case of a positive result please contact your personal doctor for further details and you are obliged to inform the close contacts, the subject holder and the head of the institute/department and the representative of the rotation and the year.

  • Replacement of study obligations in case of ordered quarantine

A student who has been ordered quarantine or isolation (a person has been proven to be infected) is obliged to immediately agree with the subject holder on the replacement and performance of study obligations during the ordered quarantine. If he fails to do so, he shall be deemed not to have completed his study obligations at his own risk. The holder of the course will determine the possibility of replacing the obligation. The student cannot order and determine how to replace the obligations, the possibility of replacing the obligations will be decided by the holder of the course when you return to the study process. At the request of the holder of the course or department, the student must submit appropriate proof of the ordered quarantine or isolation.

We urge students to contribute to the normalization of the study process and to maintain the teaching at the faculty, thus enabling all students to perform their study obligations.
